wondered how long it would take before someone mentioned cyclones just sit back and wait for the good old dust extraction debate to kick off now Personally I think the whole dust extractor thing sucks...... Hat, coat......... I notice the Oneida have been advertising a UK presence in the mags, and Andy has even reviewed their Dust Deputy IIRC. However their web site still says New Website Coming Soon . Does anyone know when 'soon' will be? Could be interesting. In order to import the bigger metal-bodied stuff (like the Gorilla) they'll almost certainly require an ATEX certificate (explosion test) - separate certificate for each model Scrit

Hmmm i may well be interested in that spare flower pot and design . Flower pot cost me £23 something - yours for £15 ? If you want to pop down to the wilds of Hampshire - i'm near the bottom of the M3, we can take the cyclone to pieces and you can measure/photo as much detail as you would like to. I've got a 3hp single phase motor too if you need one. Here is a shot of the cyclone. and the blower/filter in the roof space Bob

Bob I am Steven Peters who has set up the European side of Oneida Air Systems Ltd. I apologise for the lack of website. I am waiting for the American's to finish it. If you require any information please phone or email me and I can send you a catalogue,sales@oneida-air.co.uk or 01473 827518. Scrit makes an interesting point about ATEX but what he fails to mention is that Atex only comes into force on machines with a performance of 6000m3/hr and greater, which is for large joinery workshops with many blast gates open at once . This information can be found on EN 12779:2004 European standard, Safety of woodworking machinery-chip and dust extraction systems with fixed instalation Pages 1 and 6. If we have missed something I am quite prepared to have another look. The 2hp (1500 watt) Super Dust Gorilla has a performance of 1311 m3/hr. If we need Atex for every extractor of this type of performance then most bag (chip) collectors will need it, although you are probably going to contract a lung disease before you are blown up. Regards Steve

The big question , naturally, will be the price. Any ideas on that yet?
