Some of you may remember me asking for advice on constructing this. I quoted on it and recently got the go ahead. The design came from an interior designer who is working for the Pub it will go in. The spec called for oak veneered MDF for the carcases with solid oak worktops. I got all the materials and rough cut everything to size but before starting asked the designer if we could meet at the Pub it was going in to check exactly where it was going. Met him there and after a chat with the landlord discovered that his sizes were all wrong, the tall cabinet had to house a large till and not the small LCD monitor as I had been told. Designers Also discussed the colour as the designer wanted the whole thing stained dark oak. I suggested leaving the tops natural, just osmo polyx oil as a finish but he still wants the whole thing dark. Luckily I had cut the MDF big enough to accommodate the changes. This is how far I have got. I still think the worktops should be left unstained, what do you think? I would also be interested in a rough figure for what the pro's here would have charged, I think I quoted far to low for how long it has taken me. It has taken 3 sheets of 18mm MDF plus about 2 cubic ft of 1 1/2 AWO. It will have an oak plinth scribed to the floor when fitting. John

probably about £900 Not too sure on the worktops though, I kinda like them the way they are. Maybe try both on sketchup and see which comes out best?
