Hi Lynx Nice-looking job. I'm planning some french doors for the spring, not bifold, but I have a couple of q's about yours.
What did you do about building control? I can see that you uPVC ones has a ventilation strip in the top, and the new ones don't appear to. How did you get away with that? (I agree it looks much better that way!)
What size glass did you use and what rebate did you need for it? Is it internally or externally beaded?
Thanks Steve

Very nice Lynx, a great improvement. Don't know if I'm tired, but shouldn't there be anoyher set of bolts on the centre door ?

Thanks People
Steve, The glass is 4-12-4 and argon gas filled. The rebates are 15mm deep and the DGU fitted with a dry glazing system. The glazing beads are on the inside, i don't understand why people have them on the outside.
Dom, Why would you need a second set of bolts? All the doors fold to the right.

I can't help agreeing with Dom regarding the bolts.
Viewed from the outside, taking the door with the hand as no 1, middle door as no 2 etc what is there to stop pressure applied to the hinge between 1 and 2 and the lock of no1 being pulled out of the striker plate. Also when opening door 1 doesn't no2 come open as well?
Sorry If I'm being stupid.
Very nice doors anyway!
Bob

I think the confusion is in my naming (maybe) as i called them bi-fold but people may call them tri-fold. (what they called if 6 doors fold?)
The joint between doors 1 & 2 is the main running gear fitted to the tracks. Stopping that is a deadlocked 4 hook multilock. I've tried opening the doors without the shootbolts enabled and that door isn't going to open.
I'll post a pic later with them open, it should clear everything

Lynx
Those doors look beautiful. Can I ask what finish you used on the Iroko, please?
Regards.
