I managed to spend quite a bit of time in the workshop this weekend. I know dado blades are not everyones favorites but I happen to like using them and I have a large number of cupboards to make for the workshop before I get round to the router table project. Here is my sacrificial fence made from more of that phenolic coated Baltic birch plywood. The working face is 250mm tall above the table to allow room to fit feather boards and there is sufficient thickness to allow 22mm or so of the dado blade to be hidden in the fence. My dado set has a max width of 1" so even if I'm set up for cutting maximum width dadoes I will be able to cut down to 3mm rebates. The next picture shows the back view. Not so high at the back 155mm and the three 3 wing knobs hold the SF secure on the main fence. This is the end view with it fitted to the main fence. The clamping strip is free to float and pressure applied by the knobs. Only just got it finished before dinner so not had much time to play with it but one more thing off my 'must make' list. Please note: Riving knife and blade guard removed for clarity! I think the next job will be a panel cutting sled which should not take me long next weekend. Hope this might be of interest to someone. Bob

Nice piece of kit, well made too. Can't help wondering if you have a sacraficial hand with a name like that though. ;D

I coined the name a couple of years back when I had two fingers stitched together one as life support for the other after an accident. Perhaps I ought to drop it now as all 10 digits are independant and functioning well thanks to surgeons and lots of physio. Bob
