Very nice Sean!
Interesting mix of wood and colour.
What are you going to keep in it? Few bottle of Johnny Walker would look good! ;D ;D

Cheers I suspect Johnny Walker is whiskey? I didn't really have an idea what it would be used for, but a drinks cabinet had entered my mind ;D

That is very nice indeed. I love the doors, the panels look like an artistic rendering of a torso, and the use of differing rail/stile thicknesses is clever. The detailing on the shelves and drawers is also very pleasing.

Lovely work seanybaby. I particularly like the internal detailing and the doors. The grain on the cabinet and legs takes your eye away from those doors a bit, but like I say, very nice. You wont get away with just posting the pictures, how about some details? How long did it take you to make it? Any problems/"learning experiences? Whats the finish? Is it all done buy hand or machine? rgs

Cheers I suspect Johnny Walker is whiskey? I didn't really have an idea what it would be used for, but a drinks cabinet had entered my mind ;D Don't want to be pedantic, but strictly it is whisky. The Irish stuff is spelled whiskey. I followed your work in progress on this cabinet with great interest, and I really like it a lot. It's a style that I'm very keen on anyway, but I think you've done a great job. One day I hope to make something similar. cheers Dave

Cheers guys It took me about 6 weeks of college, which equates to about 60-70 hours i think. Although it was probably less, as i had to wait for tools etc. Finish is danish oil. It was all machine work really apart from the doors and little drawers inside. I think the design is slightly wrong, the legs did start out at 48mm with no tapering, i added the taper which made it look so much more lighter. Also i should have made the legs slightly thiner in section and the stiles slightly larger so they are both the same size, thus creating a line through the whole piece. Overall i'm pretty happy, i just need a use for it ;D

Lovely job - I'm in two minds about the taper of the legs - thicker at the bottom would have been more "Krenovian" but you've gone your own way with great success.
Can we have a look at the drawer sides? Are they Sapele?
Do you think the Danish oil will tend to yellow the maple? (General question for the congnoscenti)
A credit to the genre.

Cheers Yes, the drawer sides are sapele. Unfortunately i can't get a picture of the drawers as it's at Mansfield museum in an exhibition with various other young artists. It's on until Feb 9 if anyone is interested. I think danish oil yellows most lighter coloured woods? I'm at Basford Hall college in Nottingham doing Furniture Production.

As a big fan of Krenov, you're making my hair stand on end - love it. I just love the doors and cabinet, really special. The stand/legs are a bit heavy for my taste, but what makes this such a great craft is that no two people will ever agree totally on design. Really special, you can be rightly proud of your work.
Hmm, now where did I put my Krenov books, I think I'm in need of a fix!
Cheers
