im pricing for a replacement canopy over a front door its about 1800x900 and is supported by a chain
the chain has broken the frame is rotten and the whole thing is sagging
its framed of out of 6x2s

don't know what has gone on before, but surely it would be more sensible to tie the chains into the brickwork rather than a wooden frame.? big rawlbolts etc would seem to me to be the best way forward, then you can cantilever the chain shackle off a metal plate. for better strength you could use maybe an adhesive. paul

i took a look at screwfix and came to the same conclusion but it isnt the wall fixing or the chain thats bothering me
thats simple. find it and buy it
what i want to know is a suitable method of anchoring it securely into the wooden frame
