I am right handed in everything that i do in the shop, and seem to manage quite well with all the tools. However i do occasionally need to use my left hand and thats when i find all tools are developed and manufactured for right hands! Now, surely there should be a law against such flagrant discrimination? One specific tool is the screwdriver. It just does not screw all that well with a left hand. Strips the heads, looses its grip and slips off the head into the wood making dents and generally spoiling the project. Now, the way i see it, is we need to stand together, united front, and take on the tool manufacturers! Blacklist the "right hand only" screwdriver manufacturers!

Your wrong ;D I'm a leftie and it's easier for a leftie to tighten up a screw than a righty of course it only applies to right handed drivers Bigger problems for a leftie are knives and scissors, carving knives being the worst because they are always ground down for a righty. With scissors just try it left handed and you'll find the shape for your thumb don't work and even worst you cant see the cut because the cutting side of the blade is facing away from you... try it and you will see what I mean.

My wife's a leftie, she just buys lef-handed scissors. Simple.

What you mean you got a left and right handed screwdriver Mel? ;D I am right handed in everything I do except that is Archery. Until I tool this up I had no idea there were left and right handed bows. Luckily for me there are not that many left handed archers and the bows were much cheaper. ;D I occasionally use the mitre saw left handed while holding the timber with my right.

Jaco,
I think I've picked up a set of left handed screwdrivers by mistake - slips out of the heads all the time, sliding onto the work and scoring my almost adequately finished surfaces.
Trouble is, I've collected this set over the years from various sources and they're all different. In fact, I think there might be a left-handed conspiracy to kit me out only with leftie screwdrivers.
Hmm, I'm OK, it's all them others...

H&S have decided that left handed persons can no longer use right handed screwdrivers and vica-versa.
