I have just started using a new batch of cascamite. The dregs of the batch I made up yesterday are still rubbery, rather than the glass hard state that I expect it to have got to after nearly 24 hours. Is the Cacsamite dodgy, or is it just the cold weather? btw my workshop is heated to about 16C.

cascamite always seemed to have a shelf life, no doubt extramite is the same
the shelf life never did seem to match what it said on the tub

It's called Polymite now so if you have some Cascamite it must be ancient

I bought it (on Thursday) from my local supplier who do their own 'badged' stuff. Probably shan't be going there again.

DD they have changed the name again Humbrol renamed it Extramite now they have been bought out by Polyvine so Extramite becomes Polymite. I have been told they changed the formulation some time ago and changed the filler, and this is why it doesn't last as long as it used to.
